The 5km trail will be mostly on lakes with some short tree portages.
The 15km trail will be on narrow, windy and steep hills. Talkeetna style. Skate ski is possible although you might have to shorten your stride in some parts.

There will be cookies and warm beverages from our sponsor The Talkeetna Roadhouse at the start finish area.

We have invited Brad Christensen from the South Central Chapter of the Alaska Trappers Association again to teach a class about Trapping regulations and practical hands-on techniques to remove a dog from a trap.

No one wants to see a dog caught in a trap intended for a marten or a wolf, but it occasionally happens. Many of Alaska’s communities are adjacent to prime wildlife habitat. Trappers are drawn to these areas, as are dog walkers and mushers. Some residents close to these areas allow dogs to roam free, and pets sometimes wind up in traps. Its important to know what your rights are and how to help your furry friend.
